Nano lasers for integrated photonics circuit

Photonic Crystals (PhCs) provide versatile wavelength-scale optical platforms for light control. Small mode volume and high quality (Q) factor of a PhC cavity allow one to study low threshold lasers and cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) in various material systems. We are interested in combining photonic crystal platform with new emerging materials such as 2D materials.

This project involves photonic simulation, nanofabrication and optical characterisation.
