Future wireless systems will use very high frequency carriers in the millimetre-wave and terahertz frequency bands and will rely on photonic approaches to provide backhaul and fronthaul (xhaul) options. We are seeking to develop virtualisable RF Photonic fabrics that can seamlessly support the future wireless networks and systems. This project will integrate broadband rf circuits and systems with photonic fabric and design programmable fabrics to meet future requirements.
