Disciplines: Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Domains:
Research Centre: Nonlinear Signal Processing Lab

Machine learning has become prevalent due to its success at tasks such as speech recognition and object recognition where humans find it considerably easier to train a neural network than to develop algorithms based on signal processing fundamentals. This project aims to develop a deeper understanding of how machine-learning algorithms actually learn. It extends and combines results from the related disciplines of statistical learning theory, systems neuroscience, adaptive control and machine learning.
