This project will primarily focus on the development of novel algorithms to analyse data generated by metabolite imaging of biological tissue sections. The aim is to identify differential spatial distributions of metabolites in a biological sample, given the instrument’s output of raw metabolite abundances and intensities across tissue sections of a large number of different samples. The newly developed algorithms will be tested and validated using data from Metabolomic Australia.
